You want your home to reflect your personality, which is why it’s important to understand how choosing the right window treatments will help you achieve the look you want. One of the key factors in determining which window treatment is right for you is figuring out the look you want to achieve with your window and how much light you want to filter through. If there are windows in your home that let in quite a bit of sunlight, you might want to consider an option that will block most of light coming through.

If you are looking for a window treatment that is decorative and will enhance the beauty of your home, plantation shutters an excellent choice. Below are four options to help you decide which is right for you.

Wood Shutter

The look of wood shutters adds elegance and sophistication to any home. Wood shutters are durable and can stand the test of time. The panels can be made to fit any size up to 50 inches wide. Wood shutters can be stained in a variety of colors and provide the warmth and texture of any window. They do more than filter light and block UV Rays, wood shutters are timeless and add value to your home.

Poly Shutter

The biggest advantage to using poly shutters is price. Poly shutters give you the look of real wood but cost a fraction of the price. Poly shutters are extremely durable making it impossible to break or chip. Another added benefit is they are moisture resistant making it ideal for areas that are prone to moisture. Poly shutters are shown to be more efficient at blocking out sunlight and UV rays than traditional wood shutters. At Regency, our poly can be made up to 36-inch panels.

Roman Shade

Roman shades are made of variety of fabrics, including textures and patterns which brings a lasting style to any room. Roman shades hang like a panel when closed and block out most of the light. When rolled up, Romans look like a valance which adds texture and elegance to any room.

Solar Shade

Solar shades are extremely popular because they are made of a screen material which filters out some of the glare yet gives you the opacity without blocking your view. Solar shades filter out UV rays that can cause harmful damage while reducing the indoor temperature.

If you would like a hand deciding, that is what the consultation is for. A designer comes out, looks at the actual room, and brings the fabrics that suit it. Book a free in-home consultation, or see the gallery.
